Many of the projects that come to Stefna are custom-made solutions. It is either an independent unit or a module that is a part of the website. More often than not it is an additions to our content management system. Examples of a standalone unit is the "Fishing quota market". It is a system that keeps track of purchases and sales of fishing quotas. There users with their ships, register and are able to bid for quotas through our system. Likewise, users can receive and accept bids for quotas and managed trade. This solution is a critical first step in quota trading for the company.

The largest independent custom-made solution Stefna has made has been in the construction of a content management system for Vodafone, which was designed as a platform for the IT department to work for vodafone.is. The requirements were of course very high, because of the strong and extensive website with a lot of custom solutions and special functions. Among the vodafone custom solutions are "a million songs in the phone", the "Gold calculator", "find the correct phone" and the "Soccer-watch".

Connections to other systems and servers

Because Moya, our CMS, is built in PHP it is very easy to connect it to other systems. Among the connections are the relations between online stores and accounting systems such as Navision, DK software and Stólpi. Connections between the Icelandic Stock Exchange market system with Librasoft, connections with vedur.is, price charts and financial data for banks and temperature data from energy companies.

Additions to the functionality

Moya is particularly well suited to add modules that are specially built and run as part of the web content management system. There are small and large solutions. For example there are The Course System for Isoft computer school and supervision of diet and health for heilsubot.is.
